Our Story
It begins with a single grocery delivery truck.
Founder Bob Russo purchases his first truck and operates as a pickup and delivery carrier serving the grocery industry throughout New York and New Jersey. This is the foundation of Continental Logistics' parent company, Port Jersey Logistics.
Bob Russo partners with Tony Becker, a friend he met while working side-by-side in a New Jersey National Guard truck depot, bringing Port Jersey Logistics into the public warehousing business.
Initially developed as a transportation solution for shipments from Port Jersey Logistics warehouses to destinations outside of the Northeast region (which wasn't being covered by Port Jersey Logistics' existing transportation operation). Continental Logistics filled in service gaps by providing nationwide transportation coverage and enabling Port Jersey Logistics and their clients to grow.
Port Jersey Logistics expands its public warehousing reach with a new public warehousing operation, Tyler Distribution, which today operates 1,000,000 sq. ft. of space throughout Central New Jersey.
Rob Russo, the founder’s son, becomes president, and along with his team continues in the entrepreneurial tradition of our founders – challenging the status quo and creating value added solutions that make sense and bring value to our clients’ supply chains.
Continental grows into a full-service transportation management and logistics services provider, becoming the sole transportation offering service to clients outside of Port Jersey Logistics.
Continental launches a logistics services division alongside a new logo and website to further solidify their place as a premium transportation provider.
Throughout its history, Continental Logistics has focused on consistently growing its carrier-base and service offerings while maintaining strict compliance and client satisfaction levels. This has lead to 35 of years of successful transportation service.
